Help Atlanta Pups

Organized by Project Comfy Canines

WE DID IT!
I would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who donated to Project Comfy Canines. Together, we raised over $2,600 in less than a month. The beds have been purchased and should be on their way to Fulton County Animal Services sometime in the next week or two. There should be a press release in the near future, and we will keep everyone updated with pictures as soon as the beds come in!

Thanks again, we couldn't have done it without you!
About Project Comfy Canines.

Fulton County Animal Services in Atlanta, GA serves all of metro Atlanta and was once a high-kill shelter, but is now under the management of the Barking Hound Village Foundation and has cut euthanasia rates significantly. Although this is great news for these homeless animals, the shelter still needs the communityâ??s involvement to improve the conditions there even more. There are sixty runs at the shelter that are generally housing between 150-200 dogs at a time, which can be quite a lot for the staff to handle. Project Comfy Canines is dedicated to improving the level of comfort for the dogs at the shelter during their stay by buying one large, durable, chew-proof Kuranda bed for each run. This shelter takes in an absolutely enormous amount of dogs and does its best to place them in loving, adoptive homes. It is our responsibility as a community to come together and give back to this shelter and the dogs inside that so deserve the utmost comfort we can provide them. Please help us by providing monetary donations that will go directly towards purchasing the beds that will be so greatly appreciated by the homeless animals of Atlanta.
A thanks.

A Note About the Beds
If anyone is interested in checking out the beds we will be getting for the dogs at the shelter, go to www.kuranda.com. The beds are durable, chew-proof, and comfortable. Many of the dogs have terrible pressure sores from lying on the concrete for such a long time, so these beds will certainly come as a relief. As a side note, just wanted to let everyone know that we will be purchasing the large size beds so that the dogs will have enough room to share. The wholesale price for a large bed is $42.50, so just note that a donation of that amount will buy one of the 60 beds we're looking to donate.
Thanks so much!
